Nikolaus Habjan
Nikolaus Habjan (born September 24, 1987, in Graz ) is an Austrian director, puppeteer and artistic whistler. Nikolaus Habjan grew up in Graz and attended the BRG Carneri here. From 2006 to 2010 he studied musical theater directing at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna .
In 2003, he attended a puppetry workshop with Neville Tranter and learned how to use puppets, which he often uses in his plays. His career began in 2008 as assistant director and evening director at the Schubert Theater in Vienna - Alsergrund. In collaboration with its director Simon Meusburger, Schlag sie tot was created, a character play for which he both built the puppets and acted on the stage. More plays followed at the Schubert Theater and guest appearances, including at the Theater am LendIn Graz. From 2009 to 2016 Habjan worked as co-director of the Schubert Theater.
